NATIVE CAD/BIM APPLICATION · WINDOWS
AICAD Studio
AICAD Studio · Ptah · internal 1.0.0 · Windows x64
CAD, BIM and technical documentation in one native desktop application — a fully localised interface, a command line that follows the habits you already have, advisory screening against versioned regulation packs, and an AI boundary the build enforces.
This is a technical specification, not a marketing page. Every assertion carries a source you can check it against; where a capability has a boundary, the boundary sits beside the assertion rather than in a footnote.
REGISTER · EVIDENCE LEVEL
Capabilities, each with its evidence and its limit
This is the contract table of the document. Each row is built from the product’s claim record, carries the source file it can be checked against, and carries its limit where it has one. The label describes the LEVEL OF EVIDENCE, not commercial readiness — a "ready" label is a promise, an evidence label is a checkable fact.
The two levels used in this table
- BUILT
- Present in the source at HEAD and publishable without qualification.
- BOUNDED
- Present in the source, and publishable only together with the limit printed beneath it.
- 01
Fully localised interface
BUILTShips in English and Vietnamese. The Vietnamese edition carries 2,030 AICAD-authored strings across 9 UI contexts with none left untranslated — a complete localisation rather than a partial one, and the same depth every additional language is held to.
Evidence src/Gui/Language/AICAD_vi.ts — 20,543 lines; 2,030 messages across 9 AICAD contexts, 0 marked unfinished
Detail · Chapter 06 → - 02
Building-code advisory screening
BUILTEgress, accessibility and noise are screened against the loaded regulation pack, with clause-level citations shown in the application. The Vietnamese packs — QCVN 06 egress, QCVN 10 accessibility, QCVN 26 noise — are the most complete today; US IBC 2021 and UK ADB 2019 packs ship alongside them.
Published limit
Advisory screening only. Not a certified fire-safety or accessibility assessment, and not a substitute for statutory review.
Evidence src/Mod/AIArch/aiarch_core/lifesafety_compute/ — 3,152 lines; native panel wired at src/Gui/AICADPanels.cpp:30570-30700
Detail · Chapter 02 → - 03
8 versioned regulation packs
BUILTQCVN 01:2021, TCVN 4470:2012 (hospitals) and TCVN 8793/8794:2011 (schools) verified, alongside IBC 2021 and ADB 2019 packs.
Published limit
The QCVN 06:2021 pack is still marked draft and awaiting review.
Evidence src/Mod/AIArch/Resources/config/regulation_packs/ — 8 packs, validated by regulation_pack_validator.py
Detail · Chapter 02 → - 04
AI cannot change your model without approval
BUILT25 AI tools across 6 safety levels, with exactly one permitted to mutate the model — a constraint the build enforces automatically rather than by convention.
Evidence aiarch_core/llm_backend/ai_agent_tool_registry.py — 25 tools, levels L0-L5, single mutating tool engine.approve.apply; aiarch_core/interop/formats.py validate_interop_advisory_plan() fails any plan whose approval flags drift
Detail · Chapter 03 → - 05
AI is optional — the CAD runs offline
BUILTWith no model installed the CAD/BIM core still runs in full. No network connection is required, and no drawing has to leave the machine.
Evidence model profile catalog install_default = 'disabled'; interop runtime declares model_required=false, offline_safe=true, network_access_required=false
Detail · Chapter 03 → - 06
AutoCAD-style command line
BOUNDED461 commands and 16 system variables, typed the way AutoCAD users already type.
Published limit
Of the 461: 105 native, 134 bridged, 44 emulated, and 153 catalogued but not yet independently verified.
Evidence packaging/aicad/aicad_command_reference.json — command_count=461, system_variable_count=16, SHA-pinned from 10 sources
Detail · Chapter 04 → - 07
Drawing, modelling and documentation in one application
BOUNDEDAn 18-tab ribbon across 60+ command groups, around 20 always-available panels and 26 that appear in context — so moving from a drawing to a model to an issued set never means opening a second program.
Published limit
The most recent interface review found content clipped in all 19 panels it checked. Remediation is in progress.
Evidence DESIGN_SPEC.md; src/Gui/AICADShellRibbon.cpp — 85 tracked files, ~138,000 lines
Detail · Chapter 01 → - 08
Reads DWG across 8 AutoCAD generations
BOUNDEDDetects and reads AC1015 through AC1032, cross-checked against the independent LibreDWG decoder.
Published limit
A clean-room reader, not built on an Autodesk or ODA SDK. DWG writing is currently R2000 only, with a bounded entity set. No guarantee of exact round-trip fidelity.
Evidence aiarch_core.interop.dwg_reader; validated against the GNU LibreDWG oracle (formats.py:711,836)
Detail · Chapter 05 →
This table records evidence level, not commercial readiness. No row here is a promise about a release date, and no row is a usage metric.
This is a filtered view. The claim record also holds capabilities that exist in the source but do not yet carry enough evidence to publish; they are excluded from this table and are not described as features anywhere on this page. The filtering is enforced by an automated check, not remembered by an author.
CHAPTER 01 · THE SHELL AND THE WORKSPACE MODEL
One application, not six.
The familiar arrangement is one application to draw in, another to model in, a few more for the disciplines, and exports between them — with the losses at each export as your problem. AICAD keeps all of it inside one application, one project, one file. What follows is the anatomy of that application, read straight out of the design contract that binds the native interface.
Shell anatomy, top to bottom
The names set in mono are the real object names in the interface source, not labels invented by this page.
- QMenuBar
The persistent menu bar, ending in the AICAD Mode entry.
- AICAD_ModeSwitcher3 làn · 19 module
Three working lanes — CAD Familiar, AI Design Studio, BIM Review — plus an Environment pill and 19 module launcher buttons. Switching module changes mode in place: no window closes and the window size is preserved.
- AICAD_CommandCortexBar
An intent field alongside a strip of context chips: route preview for the command, its source, its state, the lane, the layer, the bias, the DWG fidelity, AI and hatch. Chips that overflow fold into a chevron.
- AICAD_DynamicCommands18 tab · 60+ nhóm
The multi-tab command surface, filtering over 60+ command sections. Related commands collapse into split-button dropdowns. Picking a lane in the row above switches to the matching tab.
- Dockstrái 210–300 px · phải 310–430 px · dòng lệnh 68–126 px
Left: the Tool Palette at roughly 54% height, with Layers/BIM below it at a 220px minimum. Right: Smart Properties, a scrolling inspector. Bottom: the AICAD command line.
- MDI
The central document area: a Command Center tab as the starting surface, alongside AICAD model viewports.
- AICAD_CADStatusBar
Prompt feedback, plus Grid, Snap, Ortho, Osnap, the current layer, the scale, viewport badges and the two Zen / Max switches.

DESIGN CONCEPT
This is a design concept, not a capture of running software.
One shell for both CAD and BIM: layer tree left, plan and model centre, object properties right — with no workbench to switch.
The lettering in these concept renders is English. The AICAD Studio interface in development is Vietnamese — 2,030 strings, none left untranslated.
AICAD Studio · Main CAD/BIM shell
The layout studied for the shell: command band on top, layer tree to the left, viewport in the centre, property inspector to the right, command line along the bottom. That structure is what has been built; the presentation in the drawing has not.
Every number, file name and percentage inside the image is placeholder content built for the design study. None of it is a measurement of the product, and none of it should be read as data.
The ribbon: 18 tabs, and one fail-closed replacement set
In the CAD Familiar lane the ribbon carries 17 fixed tabs plus a contextual tab named modules — it appears only while a module is open and holds that module’s tools. Eighteen in total. The section-to-tab map lives in the source, not in a configuration file editable at runtime.
Routing keys (English, never translated)

The visible caption is localised at render time; the routing key stays English so the command contract does not change with the interface language.
Modeling3D mode — a 9-tab replacement set
- Sketch
- Feature
- Surface
- Assembly
- Scan
- Analyze
- Manufacture
- Render
- Output
With three-dimensional modelling active the ribbon switches to a nine-tab set and the override is fail-closed: only sections listed explicitly are routed, so unrelated disciplines cannot leak into the 3D tab set.
This is the shell’s navigation, not a list of published capabilities. The capability register at the top of this page is the only authority on that: a discipline layer without enough evidence is absent from the register whether or not the shell has a tab leading to it.

DESIGN CONCEPT
This is a design concept, not a capture of running software.
An adaptive ribbon and a command line in one frame: the context follows the selected object while the typed-command habit stays intact.
The lettering in these concept renders is English. The AICAD Studio interface in development is Vietnamese — 2,030 strings, none left untranslated.
AICAD Studio · Native shell command cockpit
A multi-tab ribbon and a command line inside one frame — the arrangement the tab list above describes. The tab count and tab names in the picture are the study’s, not the current set; the current set is the list immediately above.
Every number, file name and percentage inside the image is placeholder content built for the design study. None of it is a measurement of the product, and none of it should be read as data.
Panels and docks
Around 20 always-available panels are registered, four of which are visible the moment the CAD Familiar lane opens. Beyond them are 26 panels summoned by context — the design contract names 22 of the 26, and these are those 22 names.

The panel house rule
No dead buttons. Where the backend contract does not exist yet, the control is disabled and states its reason — rather than being clickable and doing nothing. This rule is in the product’s own design contract.
Three viewport focus modes
| Mode | Binding | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | — | Docks are shown according to the active lane. |
| Zen | Ctrl + 0 | Hides every dock except the command line. The ribbon stays. |
| Max | Ctrl + Shift + 0 | Hides every dock and all three toolbars. The status bar stays. |
Pressing the active mode again returns to Normal. Switching working lane also resets to Normal. On exit each dock’s visibility is restored exactly as it was, rather than rebuilt from defaults.
PUBLISHED LIMIT
The open limit, stated before you meet it
The most recent interface review checked 19 panels and found content clipped in all 19. Remediation is in progress. We print that number because you will meet it in the first trial, and a defect you were told about is a known defect while the same defect unannounced is a surprise.
Scale
The native shell is code written for AICAD on an inherited CAD runtime — not a plugin, and not a recolour.
- 85 native shell files
- ≈138,000 lines of C++
- DESIGN_SPEC.md — the binding contract
CHAPTER 02 · VIETNAMESE BUILDING CODE
Vietnamese building code as executable logic, not a translation.
International CAD/BIM software ships with no QCVN or TCVN content — a Vietnamese practice looks the code up outside the software and reconciles it by hand. AICAD carries 3,152 lines of occupancy, egress, vertical egress and accessibility logic inside the checking core, and writes its citations in Vietnamese where the work happens.
Three checks, with the citations taken from the source
- QCVN 06Advisory screening
Egress
Occupant load by use, required exit count and egress width, travel distance measured by grid geodesic rather than straight line, and vertical egress for multi-storey buildings.

Accessibility
Barrier-free dimensions: ramp slope and run, landings, clear widths, doors. Every finding carries its clause reference, written in Vietnamese.

Eight versioned regulation packs
Each pack is a versioned data file, and each file carries its own verification-status field. The table reads that field directly — nothing rounded, nothing merged.
| Pack | Scope | Verification status |
|---|---|---|
vn_qcvn_01_2021 | Planning and land use | Verified |
vn_tcvn_4470_2012 | General hospitals | Verified |
vn_tcvn_8793_8794_2011 | Primary and secondary schools | Verified |
vn_qcvn_06_2021 | Fire safety for buildings | Draft — requires review |
uk_adb_2019_vol2_egress | International cross-check — egress (UK) | Verified |
uk_adb_2019_vol1_dwellings | International cross-check — dwellings (UK) | Draft — requires review |
us_ibc_2021_egress | International cross-check — egress (US) | Draft — requires review |
us_ibc_2021_accessibility | International cross-check — accessibility (US) | Draft — requires review |
The four packs still marked draft are published as draft, the fire-safety pack included. An unreviewed dataset presented as reviewed is the most dangerous thing code-checking software can do.
The limit, stated before you ask
This is advisory screening that supports design. It is not a statutory fire-safety or accessibility approval, not a substitute for a licensed reviewer, not a substitute for the submission a competent authority signs off — and it does not modify your document.
“Advisory screening, never a certified fire-safety / accessibility assessment; no document mutation.”

CHAPTER 03 · AI ARCHITECTURE
The AI proposes. It never commits.
The real worry in practice is not that an AI answers badly — a bad answer is easy to ignore. The worry is an AI that edits the model without being asked. AICAD answers that with architecture: the AI is a planner over a locked tool registry of 25 tools across six safety levels L0–L5, and exactly one of them may write to the document.
The approval boundary
Step 1
The locked tool registry
25 tools · 6 safety levels L0–L5
- 24 · read, analyse, previewNot one tool in this group declares mutation. They stop at the boundary.
- 1 ·
engine.approve.applyThe only tool that declares mutation. Level L4, preview required, approval required, rollback guidance required.
every emitted plan passes through here
Step 2
You approve
You read the preview, then you decide. Nothing routes around this step: the tool registry raises at load time if a mutating tool is missing its preview, its approval or its rollback guidance.
only engine.approve.apply continues
Step 3
Your model
Changes only after the approval step runs, with the checkpoint and audit record the plan contract requires.
Four flags a machine checks, not four flags engineers remember
Every emitted plan carries the four flags below. validate_interop_advisory_plan() fails the plan if any value drifts from the preview-before-apply contract — along with the nested contracts for the approval boundary, the rollback plan and the runtime.
- mutation_allowed
- = false
- can_auto_apply
- = false
- requires_user_approval_before_apply
- = true
- apply_not_invoked
- = true
aiarch_core/interop/formats.py — validate_interop_advisory_plan()
AI is optional. The CAD does not depend on it.
- No model is installed by default
- The AI engine ships with install_default = disabled, and declares required = false.
- No network required
- The runtime contract declares model_required = false, offline_safe = true, network_access_required = false. Your drawing never has to leave the machine.
- 21 engines registered in the core
- AICAD computes in these engines, not inside a language model.
This chapter says nothing about output quality
We publish the architecture because the architecture is checkable. We publish no measurement of AI accuracy, and this page shows no AI output. When the evidence exists we will publish the evidence first and advertise second.
CHAPTER 04 · THE COMMAND LINE
Type the way you already type, inside an application that also does BIM.
A fast drafter’s speed lives in the fingers: L, O, TR, DI, typed without looking. Almost the whole switching cost sits there. AICAD keeps that intact — a command line fixed along the bottom of the window, command names and aliases, system variables, all of it inside the same application that carries the BIM layer.
Three command surfaces, not one
The command line
A fixed bottom dock, 68–126px tall. Type a command name or an alias, read the prompt, and see the command history in place.
Command Cortex
An intent field at the top of the shell with route-preview and source chips — you see which command is about to run before it runs, and where it came from.
The AIArch Python surface
184 invocable names resolving to 121 canonical commands across 6 groups. This name set does not intersect the command catalogue (0 shared names), so the two are separate surfaces rather than one total added up to look larger.

DESIGN CONCEPT
This is a design concept, not a capture of running software.
Command Cortex: type the command the way you always have, or describe the intent in plain language and pick from proposals that carry their shortcuts.
The lettering in these concept renders is English. The AICAD Studio interface in development is Vietnamese — 2,030 strings, none left untranslated.
AICAD Studio · Command Cortex — intent bar and command access
The study for the intent field: command proposals carrying their own shortcuts, and a synonym list so someone who knows the old command name still finds the new one. The proposal mechanism is what is being built; the numbers and labels in the picture are not.
Every number, file name and percentage inside the image is placeholder content built for the design study. None of it is a measurement of the product, and none of it should be read as data.
The command catalogue, including the unverified part
The reference lists 461 commands: 106 built natively in AICAD, 185 reaching their behaviour through the inherited runtime (bridged, routed or emulated), 153 catalogued only, and 17 published boundaries — retired commands, commands needing a licensed adapter, commands out of scope.
- 106
- native
- 185
- through the inherited runtime
- 153

- 17
- published boundaries
16 tracked system variables, each carrying its own status.
NOT INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED
153 of the 461 carry a definition and a grammar but no evidence of running. They are in the table below under their own label, and they are not folded into any other number. Saying “a catalogue of 461 commands” is accurate; saying “461 working commands” is not.
The full table is directly below: searchable, filterable by status, and every row records what the product’s registry records. This is where you look up the commands you type every day.
GENERATED FROM THE PRODUCT'S OWN REGISTRY
Command reference
This table was not written by the website. It is generated from the command reference the AICAD build produces about itself, assembled from 10 SHA-pinned sources. Each row carries the implementation status the product itself declares.
The reference lists 461 commands. 106 are built natively in AICAD; 185 reach their behaviour through the inherited runtime — bridged, routed or emulated. 153 are catalogued from the command specification and have not been independently verified: they carry a definition and a grammar, not evidence of running. The remaining 17 are published boundaries. Counted another way: 307 of the 461 have a test linked against them and 154 carry catalog traceability only.
We publish the last column too. Saying “a catalogue of 461 commands” is accurate; saying “461 working commands” is not, so we do not say it.

System variables
The reference tracks 16 system variables carried forward from the AutoCAD 2026 command set. This is the tracked set rather than the whole variable surface of the product, and each variable states its own status in the table.

Alongside the table above, AIArch has a separate Python command surface: 184 invocable names resolving to 121 canonical commands. The two name sets do not intersect (0 shared names), so they are separate surfaces rather than one larger total.
CHAPTER 05 · INTEROPERABILITY AND FORMATS
We publish what you lose, not how many formats we support.
The buyer’s real question is not “can it open my file” — everything opens the file. It is “what do I lose when it does”. So this table has a fourth column, and the fourth column is the substance: what each conversion costs. A row that loses something says so.
| Format | Read | Write | Level | What is lost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| .aicad · .fcstd | native | native | NATIVE | The native project format. No conversion step at all. |
| IFC · IFCZIP | yes (optional) | yes (optional) | HIGH | Requires the full IfcOpenShell runtime to enable. The comparison corpus currently holds IFC2X3 only. |
| DXF | yes | yes | HIGH | Loses part of dynamic block behaviour. |
| DWG | external converter | external converter | MEDIUM | A clean-room reader. The internal writer is R2000 only, over a bounded entity set. No guarantee of an intact round-trip. |
| STEP · BREP | yes | yes | HIGH | Exact geometry; carries no BIM properties. |
| IGES | yes | yes | MEDIUM | An older format, with less stable surface tolerance than STEP. |
| STL · OBJ · PLY · 3MF | yes | yes | REFERENCE | Triangle meshes — parameters and properties are lost entirely. .obj and .ply have several registered owners. |
| glTF · GLB | external converter | yes | REFERENCE | For viewing and presentation, not for modelling on top of. |
| SVG · PDF · DGN | yes | yes / vector | MIXED | SVG medium; PDF and DGN are proxy level — the content is readable, the original model is not. |
| Revit .rvt · .rfa | metadata + accompanying IFC | IFC export | PROXY | Never a native Revit open. You get metadata and the accompanying IFC, not the Revit model. |
| ArchiCAD .pln · .pla · .gsm | metadata + accompanying IFC | IFC export | PROXY | As above: the path is IFC, not the native format. |
| 3ds Max .max · SketchUp .skp | inventory / external converter | no | PROXY | Content inventory only, or through an external converter. No write-back. |
| FBX · D5 .drs | native geometry | no | REFERENCE | Geometry in, for reference. No write-back. |
How this is counted
91 extensions are registered at startup. The versioned fidelity corpus currently covers 6 formats; the remaining 85 have had no measurement campaign. We print 6 of 91 rather than writing “supports 91 formats”.
DWG — said carefully, because it is the easiest place to overpromise
AICAD reads DWG through a clean-room decoder AICAD wrote, independently cross-checked against the GNU LibreDWG oracle. No Autodesk SDK, no ODA SDK — so no SDK fee is passed on to you, and there is no native parity to promise either.

PUBLISHED LIMIT · DWG
The internal writer is currently R2000 only, over a bounded entity set. No intact round-trip is guaranteed. Where a licensed SDK is absent, native DWG support reads as disabled and the converter path is stated explicitly — rather than quietly degrading.

DESIGN CONCEPT
This is a design concept, not a capture of running software.
The DWG/DXF/IFC import wizard: layer and block mapping tables, source and result side by side, and a fidelity report that says plainly where the result is only partial.
The lettering in these concept renders is English. The AICAD Studio interface in development is Vietnamese — 2,030 strings, none left untranslated.
AICAD Studio · DWG / DXF / IFC import wizard
The study for the importer: seven steps from file scan to commit, a split view comparing source against converted result, and a fidelity report broken out by item — including the line stating that native DWG support is off.
Every number, file name and percentage inside the image is placeholder content built for the design study. None of it is a measurement of the product, and none of it should be read as data.
The import fidelity report
The importer scores fidelity item by item rather than emitting one number, and it keeps the layer, block, xref and font/style mapping so the next import can reuse it. The items scored:
- geometry
- layers
- blocks
- xrefs
- AEC objects
- dimensions
- materials
- properties
- round-trip status
CHAPTER 06 · THE LOCALISED INTERFACE
A localisation taken to completion, not to eighty per cent.
A half-finished translation is worse than none: the user learns two vocabularies for the same command, and every update drops a few more strings back into English. So the number matters more than the assertion. The Vietnamese edition is the one measured below, and the number is all of the strings rather than most of them — which is the bar any further language is held to.
Counted
- 2.030
- interface strings authored by AICADsrc/Gui/Language/AICAD_vi.ts
- 9
- interface contexts coveredAICAD_vi.ts — contexts
- 0
- strings still marked unfinishedAICAD_vi.ts — 0 unfinished
- 20.543

Interface languages: VI · EN
The translation boundary, deliberate and reasoned
Visible captions are localised at render time. The routing keys underneath are not: object names of the form AICAD_RibbonSection_<key> stay English in every interface language. The practical consequence is that the command contract does not shift with the language — a macro, a script or a written procedure produced on a Vietnamese-configured machine runs unchanged on an English-configured one, and the reverse. For a bilingual practice that is the difference between usable and not.
Citations written in Vietnamese, where the work happens
The code-checking layer does not return an error code and leave you to look it up. It emits its citation in Vietnamese inside the application, in the shape below — which means the person reading the result and the person reading the regulation are the same person, reading the same language.
citation = "QCVN 10:2014 §2.2 đường dốc"aiarch_core/lifesafety_compute/accessibility.py
Stacked diacritics
Written Vietnamese stacks a tone mark above a vowel mark. At interface sizes this is where a typeface not drawn for Vietnamese breaks first — marks clipped, marks colliding with the line above, or marks crushed together. This is what the Vietnamese surface has to carry:
ế ữ ằ ẵ ộ ỹ
This specimen is set in the website’s typeface, not the desktop application’s. We do not publish the build’s typeface because there is no verification evidence for it.
PUBLISHED LIMIT
The unverified part
The string count and the coverage above are counted from the translation file at HEAD. That they render correctly on the exact-HEAD build has not been verified — the build chain is being restored, and we do not publish a rendering result we have not been able to run.
NOT BUILT · ROADMAP
Vietnamese-tuned AI adapters — not present
Nine adapters are designed in the catalogue. None is installed, none is published, and none has passed any quality gate. So this is not a feature and must not be read as one: it is here to answer the question before you have to ask it.
PLATFORM, LICENCE AND THE PUBLICATION BOUNDARY
What can be stated, and what cannot
The first half is the platform facts that can be published today. The second is the list of numbers a specification sheet normally carries and this page does not — because at HEAD no evidence for them exists.
Platform facts
- Platform
- Windows x64. No other platform build is published.
- Licence
- Closed-source commercial software, built on an inherited open-source CAD runtime. Full attribution and terms ship with the installer.
- Project format
- .aicad
- Network requirement
- The CAD/BIM core needs no network. Activation needs one sign-in.
- AI
- Optional. No model is installed by default; it runs in full with no model at all.
- Price
- Denominated in AICoin, the same wallet as the web applications. Detailed pricing is published when the beta opens.
Not published, and why
Nothing below has a measured receipt at HEAD. We leave it blank rather than fill in a plausible number, because a plausible wrong number is still a wrong number — and you would find out exactly when it costs you money.
- Minimum CPU
- Minimum RAM
- GPU requirement
- Install size
- File size limit
- Maximum model count
- Release date
- User, download or rating figures
When the evidence exists we publish the evidence first and the feature second. Never the other way round.
EARLY ACCESS
Register to be told when the private beta opens.
AICAD has not shipped. Registering costs nothing, needs no card, and is not a pre-order. Leave an email; we will tell you when there is an installer to run.
Sold to people who know the trade
Engineering software is judged in the first trial, not on a marketing page. So everything stated here can be checked against the product, anything that does not yet meet the bar for a public claim simply is not here, and anything with a boundary carries the boundary with it.
